Sean had to travel again this week, so I decided to take the girls out shopping after work :)

I took the girls to McD's first

Then we went shopping. Lexi saw these huge Santa's and Snowmans and asked me to take her picture so we could send them to Daddy!

Blue Jay Orchards 2010

We went twice to Blue Jay Orchards. The first time we went only for apples. Lexi and Lilli joined their counsins Hailey and Jackie. The second time we went was with Grandma and PopPop on their anniversary. The girls went on the hayride to pick out pumpkins and then we picked some apples. They really enjoyed the outdoors and munching on juicy apples!!

Lilli's Growth Saga

Yesterday Lilli went for an MRI of the brain. She has not been growing very much since about 15 months and is well below the curve, at about 1 %. Thyroid, Liver, Kidney and chromosone problems have been ruled out after numerous tests. Her pedi wants to see if the parts of her brain such as the pituitary function, which control growth are developed as they should be. If this looks fine, then we will move onto one more test to determine if growth hormone therapy is right for her. This is a bit involved and will require a hospital stay. We are very fortunate to have such a great pedi, as his speciality is pediatric endroncology.

She was so happy the first 45 minutes prior to the MRI, here is a picture of her in the gown before the scan. She had no clue as to what was going to happend. They had to give her anthesia to put her to sleep since the MRI took about an hour to perform since they did with and without contrast. She was so upset when they took her away from me, I cried watching her receive the gas and fall asleep. She took about an hour to recover from the anthesia, but had no side affects from the contrast! What a little trooper! She has been through a lot lately.

Lilli at the Park

We went to the park and Lilli enjoyed crawling through the tunnels. The last photo of her is when she made her way to the end and wanted to tell me that she had poopie in her diaper. That is how she signs when she has already gone :)

Where is her head?

We were shopping at Kohls a couple weekends ago and Lexi was looking at a manaquin and asked "Where is her head?" She then asked me to take her picture so she could look like one.

A Prayer for Mommy's Mommy

The other day Lexi and I were in her room cleaning and she stopped and asked me "Mommy, do you still love your Mommy?" (Lexi knows my Mom is in heaven) I told her absolutely, I love my Mommy very much. I told her that even though my Mommy is in heaven, I love her every day and I will never stop loving her. She then says, "Mommy, I am going to say a prayer for her." She begins to bless herself and says, "In the name of the father, and the son and the holy spirit, Amen" as she brings her hands together in front of her. She then continues on to say, "Mommy's Mommy we love you very much!" I was so touched by this, I began to cry! She then told me, "OK, Mommy, now you say a prayer for your Mommy." And I did :)

Lexi is so sweet and a very caring little girl. She mentions a couple times a week how she much she misses Stinky. The other day, prior to this, she asked me if my Mommy and Stinky are together in Heaven. I told her they most certainly are.

Lilli - 18 months

Lilli has recently turned 18months and is making some great headway developmentally. She is getting so close to walking all by herself that she now walks about 15 or so steps without any assistance :) We are so proud of her. She is still a tiny gal, as she weighs 18 pounds and is 28 inches long. She looks like a baby doll when she is toddeling around, it is so cute!

Her vocabulary is starting to expand as well. Aside from Mama and Dadda, she says: Milk, Missy, PopPop, Grandma, Cat, Ball, and Book. She has learned to sign basic needs to easily communicate with us too. These include: More, All Done, Potty, Drink, Eat, Bath, Play, and Bye Bye. She uses all of these signs on a daily basis.

Lilli loves to eat all the types of food that we eat, and refuses to eat baby food now. She is doing a great job mastering how to use a fork and spoon. She is very insistent on feeding herself. It is messy, but I love giving her a sense of independence. She has just about given up the bottle, as she prefers to drink from sippy cups. She also likes to try to drink from a regular cup.

Her bladder control is getting better, so she stays drier longer now. Now that she knows how to communicate "potty" she is getting good at sensing when she has to go and lets me know. She enoys sitting on the potty. Some days, she is more interested than others, but it's a start :)

Lilli LOVES her big sister and looks up to her. They get a long very well and are very loving towards each other. I think Lexi helps encourage Lilli to try new things, this is why some things have been a bit faster with her. Both girls still sleep in bed with us and it is so cute to watch them sleep so close to another. They love to sleep snuggled up with each other. I look forward to waking up each morning to the two of them next to us.

WOW, what busy little girls :)
